Books on our kitchen table this Autumn

Books on our kitchen table this Autumn

Now that Autumn seems to have settled down into a pattern of dodging the rain and blowy walks, it feels like just the time to sit down with a Cupsmith hot chocolate and leaf through that appealing pile of unread books.  The joy of being lost in a really good novel just can't be beaten.

So to that end we have squirrelled around and found some fabulous new reads.  A Thousand Ships by Natalie Haynes, shortlisted for the Women's prize for Fiction 2020, an all female retelling of the Trojan war.

Before the Coffee gets Cold - Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi the second of these books telling beautiful, simple tales of people who must face up to their past in order to move on with their lives.

And finally On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong, a debut novel in the form of a letter from a son to his mother who cannot read.
